Youth Ready Leadership Academy (YRLA) Alumnae In-Person Session

On 28th April 2026, the Youth Ready Leadership Academy (YRLA) alumnae successfully organized an in person capacity-building session at Nefaland Hotel in Kinondoni Municipal Council, Dar es Salaam.
The session brought together YRLA alumnae members and invited participants with the dual objective of reviewing the academy’s overall progress and strengthening participants’ competencies through targeted discussions on mental health, psychosocial support, and healthy relationships. The session was professionally facilitated by a psychologist from Muhimbili National Hospital, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based engagement on these critical topics.

This initiative was fully organized by the YRLA alumnae network, with technical and financial support from the Youth Ready Project, implemented by KIWOHEDE in partnership with World Vision Tanzania. The activity reflects the project’s commitment to nurturing leadership skills, promoting psychosocial wellbeing, and empowering young people as agents of positive change in their communities.

Key Outcomes:
1. Strengthened leadership and peer support among YRLA alumnae
2. Enhanced knowledge and awareness on mental health and psychosocial support
3. Reinforced understanding of healthy relationships
This session demonstrates the growing ownership and sustainability of the Youth Ready Leadership Academy as alumnae take active roles in organizing and leading capacity-building activities.
