PTE AND KITE PROJECT

PAMOJA TUDUMISHE ELIMU PROJECT – Promotion of quality and inclusive education for the retention and engagement of students at risk of dropping-out in Tanzania is a Project implemented by WeWorld in collaboration with KIWOHEDE aiming at improving retention and engagement in a quality primary education for 5000 “high risk” and “most at risk” students affected by multiple risk factors in marginalized urban areas in Tanzania, Dar es Salaam – Temeke and Kinondoni Municipalities (Ultimate Goal). The project is co-financed by Educate a Child Program of Education Above All Foundation and WeWorld.

It is a three years (2023-2026) project; implementing in two municipals which are Kinondoni and Temeke, Dar es salaam in 13 Primary Schools. It covers 6 primary schools in Temeke Municipal which are Buza, Amani, Bwawani, Kizuiani, Kibondemaji and Mtoni Kijichi. In Kinondoni Municipal the project covers 7 primary schools which are Ally Hapi, Bunju A, Kawe A, Kheri Missinga, Boko, Mtambani and Tumaini.

During the implementation of the project, specific interventions will be realized at school level, to support the identified 5,000 students At High Risk and Most At Risk and improve their school performance and engagement (Outcome 1), Community-based interventions aiming at mitigating risks associated to background and demographic characteristics for the 2,500 At High Risk and 2,500  Most At Risk students, in order to promote their retention (Outcome 2) and Besides, the project will strengthen the capacities of duty bearers to enforce education policies and address barriers affecting access and retention to quality education for vulnerable and marginalized students (Outcome 3).
